![]() ![]() 2012 Wade was declining sharply and Bosh was good but still just a great player, not a superstar. However, comparing Wade and Bosh past their primes to peak Shaq is ridiculous. (Pretty pathetic he lost, but mad credit to the Mavs :). I literally just made a comment where I said in 2011 Lebron easily had the most help in the league. Oh I'm NOT saying Wade and Bosh weren't good help. That team wonĢ7 straight games and went to 4 straight finals for a reason Wade+Bosh is one hell of a supporting cast for any player in NBA history, which almost perfectly complemented LeBrons playstyle. Surely there are people who would trade 1 season of Wade+Bosh for Shaq, but that doesn't mean they are lesser players. Doesn't matter if Wade had several clutch shots during and monster games against Indy that year and Bosh returning to be a crucial roster piece right? Doesn't matter if the two of them supported the whole transition, floor spacing and PnR offense for the Heat, or the defensive schemes which made the Heat to be one the top defenses during that run. You're not even considering the overall impact players like Bosh and Wade have on their teams. Fuck Kobe for having the most dominant center ever in his roster, right? The only thing stupid af is to look at a single post season from Bosh+Wade (not even mentioning Bosh missed like 9 games in the postseason and the following '12 olympics that year with an injury) and making one dimensional comparisons to judge their value as players for all of their championships, just to hype up LeBron and bash Kobe. My personal conclusion: comparing any of Kobe's first 3 rings to any of Lebron's is stupid af, Shaq alone was WAY better than Bosh+Wade. If you want a comparison, Kobe's teams from 2008-2010 are what Lebron's team is today.Įveryone else under that is comparable in terms of quality to someone in the other team. That said, he's not better than Kyrie or Wade. One of the greatest international players. It was simply enough for Kobe to contend with. People like to say Kobe's team from 2008-2010 was stacked. But it's still a loss against the Mavericks and against the Spurs. So if you want to hold 1 loss (pre-kevin durant) against him or not, it's up to you. His team in Cleveland post-"i'm coming home" was also stacked, but so were the Warriors. LeBron lost twice while being part of a stacked team, once against the Mavericks and once against the Spurs. Still losses, I'm just mentioning it for comparison reasons. His other finals loss was against a stacked team. Kobe lost once (in a stacked team) against the Pistons. ![]() LeBron has lost more times in stacked teams than Kobe has btw. In terms of who has had more stacked teams, it definitely has to be LeBron. Kobe had shit help after Shaq left until Gasol arrived. LeBron had shit help before he left Cleveland. But I don't like him particularly more than I like Shaq, Lebron, or Ben Wallace (random examples,) so I feel like as a somewhat neutral observer I can say no, this sub doesn't "hate" Kobe. As far as basketball goes Kobe is one of my favorite players ever. When talent is spread across the league, having 2 allstars is a hell of a lot more beneficial than when multiple teams have 4 allstars.īTW I'm not a Kobe hater. So, while Kyrie/Love/TT/JR/ etc > Gasol/Odom/Bynum/MWP/Ariza/ etc, the supporting casts of the 08 celtics wasn't as dominant as the supporting cast of the 2017 Warriors, thus IMO Kobe had more help in that instance. I think that the 20 Cavs were better rosters than the late 2000s lakers, but I like to compare the supporting cast of a player to the supporting cast of other top players at that time. It's hilarious that if you say "this sub hates Kobe," you get upvoted, and if you say "this sub loves Kobe," you get downvoted.Īnyway as far as help, it goes Threepeat lakers > 2003-2004 Lakers > 2011 Heat > 2012-2013 Heat = 08-10 Lakers > rest of Lebron's teams. Not that Kobe didn't have any of that mindset either (he asked for a trade) but way less so than Lebron. I agree, LBJ definitely had more of a ring-chasing and less of a loyalty mentality than Kobe.
